Unfortunately this one was not even remotely interesting to me. There was nothing wrong with the writing, or writing style. There was nothing wrong with the flow of this story. It was just simply not interesting. From the characters & setting, to the plot, there was nothing gripping about this at all. So naturally by the time I got to the end where the "cliff hanger" was left, I couldn't have cared less.
When you read a story about vampires and some age old family secret that involves them, you expect to feel the decadent intrigue, mystery, the promise of an amazing reveal or love in the process. And with this 1st installment you dont get that at all.
If you want to give this trilogy a try, then I say enter with very low expectations. Then maybe you will not be disappointed and decide to continue.
But I would not recommend this read.
