Heart Recaptured - Tillie Cole

Okay let me just get this out of the way. If it were not for the disconnect I felt as far as Ky & Lilah being together, this book would have been a 5 star read for me. I got their physical connection, yes. But the emotions, the intense emotions that Ky seemed to feel almost immediately for Lilah, even after it was clear she was so emotionally damaged & broken, just didn't make sense to me. I was told & shown why she was the way that she was & it broke my heart. But the fractured soul & personality that her life experiences had reduced her to, left me with a strong impression that not only could she NOT truly love purely & freely again, but neither could someone like Ky take on such responsibility for a broken soul such as her's. Or evenwant to for that matter. It just never truly connected for me. So I couldn't reconcile the two.

Even though their ending was a beautiful one, & the point of Lilah's journey & where she wound up, was just as beautiful & raw, & nerve wracking for me; I just can't see her with any man. Especially someone like Ky.

So their emotional connection here in this story was definitely a case of being told that it's there, instead of seeing & feeling it to be true, IMO.

Now, the rest of this book was on point for me. All things concerning the secondary plots, the set ups for future books & characters, all of it was riveting & intense. A great follow up from book 1. (Which was excellent IMO) & this book has got me eager to read the next installment to this series. All this alone is what made this book a 4 star read for me.

I truly hope that Flame's story, alongside the other plots unfolding will be nothing short of amazing.

I certainly recommend this read & series thus far.

**PLEASE read in order.**
